Brian Wilson To Perform "Pet Sounds" In Albany

Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys has been traveling the world giving audiences a chance to bid farewell to his most celebrated achievement: the 1966 album Pet Sounds. Ranked by Rolling Stone as the second-greatest album of all time, Wilson’s masterpiece helped lift a surf rock vocal group to auteur status in the rock world. Brian Wilson’s tour with fellow founding Beach Boy member Al Jardine, Blondie Chaplin, and his terrific band will be at the Palace in Albany on April 26 at 8 p.m. and at the Hanover in Worcester on April 30.

A lifelong resident of the Capital Region, Ian joined WAMC in late 2008 and became news director in 2013. He began working on Morning Edition and has produced The Capitol Connection, Congressional Corner, and several other WAMC programs. Ian can also be heard as the host of the WAMC News Podcast and on The Roundtable and various newscasts. Ian holds a BA in English and journalism and an MA in English, both from the University at Albany, where he has taught journalism since 2013.
