Ideas Matter - Women's Suffrage In New York State
Today we speak with Sally Roesch Wagner, the Founding Director of the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation, which is partnering with the New York Council for the Humanities to planning a number of programs and events celebrating the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in New York State, which we will celebrate in 2017.
Next week, the Gage Foundation, New York Council, and other partners will be in Albany to talk to lawmakers about their plans for the celebration.
On March 10 at 6pm at The Linda, WAMC's performing arts space in Albany will host a New York Council for the Humanities conversation moderated by WAMC's Allison Dunne and featuring the historians Carol Faulkner, Laura Free, and Alison Parker. Following that, NY Humanities will have an evening of comedy by The Reductress, the first and only satirical news magazine for women. This will be held at the Lark Tavern in Albany, NY starting at 8pm.
