Damien Echols

As one of the West Memphis Three, Damien Echols spent nearly two decades on death row for the murders of three Arkansas Cub Scouts in 1993, a crime he says he didn't commit. Last year, due to a lack of evidence, the men were released amid a flood of publicity.

Now 37, Echols has written Life After Death

, a memoir that details the horrors of prison life. He has become something of a celebrity. Along with Lord of the Rings director, Peter Jackson, and others, Echols produced West of Memphis, a documentary about the case.

Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
