The Burlington City Council has approved a revised settlement agreement with developers that will allow a long idle multi-million dollar downtown project to move forward.

Burlington, Vermont’s mayor announced a settlement today with the developers of a downtown project that has been stalled for years.

While a debate over a complaint filed against the Burlington City Council’s use of executive session dominated Monday evening’s meeting, a number of other items were on the agenda.  As WAMC’s North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley reports, the meeting included an update on the stalled downtown redevelopment project.

At the end of July Mayor Miro Weinberger sent a default letter to the developers of a stalled redevelopment project in the center of downtown Burlington. A new partnership has now formed to take over the project.

Developers of a stalled mall project in Vermont's largest city say construction won't begin until late summer or early fall - pushing the opening back to 2022 or 2023.

The developers of a stalled development in the center of Burlington appeared before the City Council Monday night to present a scaled-back plan. As WAMC’s North Country Bureau Chief Pat Bradley reports, they gave assurances that the project will move forward.

Burlington’s mayor is demanding developers of the stalled downtown mall  get the project back on track.

A New York property developer says it remains committed to a long-stalled project that would reshape the downtown of Vermont's largest city, but it will be at least several months before construction can begin.

The majority owner of CityPlace Burlington, Vermont, has told city leaders it is still committed to the project that stalled last summer.

Burlington’s mayor and the developer of an old electric generating facility on the city’s waterfront have agreed to cancel a development agreement.  But the New Moran Inc. is being given a final chance to present a feasible project even as the mayor begins to assess other potential developers or destruction of the building.
