Orange County Jail

Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta joined 14 other county sheriffs in New York in support of a lawsuit challenging the Local Cops Local Crimes Act, which would ban the county jail from housing ICE detainees.

Lawmakers voted unanimously to call on the DHS and ICE not to build in Newburgh, but the move is mostly symbolic.
