The New England Patriots beat the Buffalo Bills, 24-12 on Sunday, to earn their 10th straight AFC East title. Tom Brady joined Peyton Manning, Drew Brees and Philip Rivers with at least 10 seasons of 4,000-plus passing yards for New England, which moved ahead of Houston for the No. 2 seed in the conference playoffs and a first-round bye.

The Dallas Cowboys are NFC East champs after Dak Prescott accounted for two touchdowns and Jaylon Smith returned a fumble 69 yards for a score in a 27-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Aaron Rodgers threw a 16-yard touchdown pass to Davante Adams with 6:23 left in overtime, leading the Green Bay Packers to a wild 44-38 victory over the New York Jets. The victory was the Packers' first on the road this season.

Andrew Luck hooked up with Chester Rogers for a 1-yard TD pass with 55 seconds left to give the Colts their only lead of the game and a 28-27 win over the New York Giants. Indy has won eight of nine to keep itself in the playoff hunt heading into the regular-season finale at Tennessee.

New Orleans beat Pittsburgh 31-28, Seattle got past KC 38-31 to clinch a playoff spot, and the Eagles held off the Texans 32-30.

In the NBA, the Brooklyn Nets beat the  Suns 111-103 a day after Phoenix lost in triple overtime at Washington.

On the ice, Nolan Patrick scored the lone goal in a shootout that lasted four rounds and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the scuffling New York Rangers 3-2. And the Buffalo Sabres say Hall of Fame announcer Rick Jeanneret is resting and doing well a day after he was taken out of the press box on a stretcher. The team's update came about 12 hours after the 76-year-old Jeanneret was transported to the hospital during the third period of Buffalo's win over the Anaheim Ducks. The Sabres say he looks forward to returning to his job after the team's three-day Christmas break.
