A former Yankees strength coach who told Congress he injected major leaguer Roger Clemens with steroids more than a dozen times has been arrested on a drunken driving charge on Long Island. Nassau County prosecutors say Brian McNamee was arraigned Monday on charges including driving while intoxicated, driving while ability impaired by drugs and unlicensed driving. Police said McNamee was arrested Monday morning in Long Beach after he crashed into another car.

McNamee represented himself at his arraignment Monday. He was released on $2,500. A phone number for McNamee could not immediately be located. McNamee sued Clemens for defamation in 2008 after the pitcher said McNamee lied and manufactured evidence when he accused Clemens of using banned performance-enhancing drugs. The suit was settled in March.

A subpoena for former Boston Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling will be reissued as Rhode Island lawmakers continue to probe the state's $75 million deal with his failed video game company, 38 Studios. The subpoena, requested by the House Oversight Committee, commanded Schilling to testify yesterday before the committee. It expired after a constable wasn't able to serve it. Schilling lives in Massachusetts.

Pete Rose says Monday's ruling by baseball commissioner to not reinstate the all-time hits leader was disappointing. But the 74-year old says he still holds out hope to be elected to the Hall of Fame. Commissioner Rob Manfred rejected his bid to get back in the game partly because Rose still bets legally in this gambling town, but Rose says he still has a lot to offer the sport.
