An Ethiopian man and a Kenyan woman are the winners of this year’s Boston Marathon.
Lelisa Desisa won his second Boston Marathon Monday. He won the men’s division in 2013 and donated his medal to the city to honor the bombing victims.
Desisa spoke on the BAA’s live web stream shortly after crossing the finish line.
"I am happy to win for a strong Boston," he said. " Strong Boston 2013."
Caroline Rotich of Kenya took the women’s division by just 4 seconds to win her first Boston Marathon.
The event was held in cloudy, cool, and damp conditions and under the same security procedures that were installed for last year’s race.
