New York Knicks center Samuel Dalembert was fined $15,000 by the NBA on Monday for elbowing Toronto's Jonas Valanciunas in the face.

Nashville beat Columbus 5-1, Washington edged Ottawa 2-1, Florida skated past Pittsburgh in a shootout 4-3, Vancouver blew out Arizona 7-1, Anaheim beat San Jose in overtime 3-2, and it was Calgary over Los Angeles 4-3.
NCAA:
In top 25 college basketball, Temple beat out No. 10 Kansas 77-52, and UConn beat Columbia 80-65.
Evan Singletary made 4 of 6 from long range to total 21 points as Albany dominated the second half to knock off Fairfield 77-66 last night. Kevin Degnan hit 3 of 6 from beyond the arc to total 13 points, and Marcus Gilbert chipped in 11 for Fairfield
MLB:
Former Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez has won the prestigious Fuchs Award from the Boston chapter of the Baseball Writers' Association of America. The award for long and meritorious service to baseball is named for Judge Emil Fuchs, the former owner of the Boston Braves.
