Sports Report: Patriots, Broncos, Colts Clinch Divisions; Buffalo Upsets Green Bay 21-13

NFL:

The New England Patriots, Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts are division champions once again after earning victories on Sunday.

The New England Patriots have clinched the AFC East title for the sixth straight season after a 41-13 win over the Miami Dolphins yesterday. The Denver Broncos have captured the AFC West title after defeating San Diego 22-10. And the Indianapolis Colts have clinched the AFC South title after beating Houston 17-10.

Aaron Rodgers completed just 17 of his 42 passes for 185 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions as Green Bay lost 21-13 to Buffalo, leaving the Packers in a tie with Detroit for the NFC North lead. The Bills' offense produced only four field goals by Dan Carpenter, but Marcus Thigpen's 75-yard punt return provided Buffalo's lone touchdown. Mario Williams helped seal the victory when he forced Rodgers to fumble with 1:51 left, causing a safety.

Elsewhere the Giants beat Washington 24-13, the Jets topped Tennessee 16-11, Cincinnati blew out Cleveland 30-0, Baltimore topped Jacksonville 20-12, Kansas City won against Oakland 31-13, Pittsburgh beat Atlanta 27-20, Carolina bested Tampa Bay 19-17, Detroit won against Minnesota 16-14, Seattle bested San Francisco 17-7, and it was Dallas over Philadelphia 38-27.

NBA:

In the NBA, the Sacramento Kings have fired coach Michael Malone. Toronto bested New York in overtime 95-90, Chicago won against Miami 93-75, Golden State topped New Orleans in overtime 128-122, Washington defeated Utah 93-84, the Lakers bested Minnesota 100-94, Oklahoma City beat Phoenix 112-88, and it was San Antonio over Denver 99-91.

Kobe Bryant passed Michael Jordan score of 32,292 points for third place on the NBA scoring list before finishing with 26 points in the Los Angeles Lakers' 100-94 win at Minnesota. Bryant scored 10 points in the final five minutes to help the Lakers clinch the win.

NHL:

Over on the ice, the Rangers blanked Edmonton 2-0, Chicago beat Calgary 2-1, and it was Toronto over Los Angeles in a shootout 4-3.

NCAA:

In men's college hoop action, UConn snapped a three-game losing streak with a 106-85 rout of Coppin State yesterday. Amida Brimah scored a career-high 40 points. Ryan Boatright added 22 points and Kentan Facey had 15, also a career best for UConn.
