Sports Report: Spurs Over Heat In Game 4, Rangers At Kings Tonight

NBA:

In the NBA finals, San Antonio topped Miami 107-86, giving the Spurs a 3-1 series lead. Kawhi Leonard had team highs of 20 points and 14 rebounds for the Spurs, while Tony Parker added 19 points. They combined to hit 15 of their 27 shots, a major reason for San Antonio's 57-percent success rate.

U.S. Open:

Martin Kaymer has shot a 5-under 65 to take a three-shot lead after the opening round of the U.S. Open.

The German birdied three of the last five holes at Pinehurst No. 2 and finished with the lowest round ever posted for the three Opens played at the course. Kevin Na, Graeme McDowell, Fran Quinn and Brendon DeJonge share second.

Jordan Spieth, Keegan Bradley, Matt Kuchar, and Henrik Stenson are among 10 players at 1-under. Phil Mickelson bogeyed two of his last four holes to post a 70 as he attempts to earn his first U.S. Open victory and complete the career Grand Slam.

World Cup:

The World Cup is underway in Brazil, where the host country opened the competition with a 3-1 win over Croatia. The Brazilians fell behind 1-0 on an own goal in the 11th minute before coming back strong with 3 goals on the opposing team.

MLB:

In baseball, in interleague play, Houston beat Arizona 5-4 in 10.

In the American League, the Yankees doubled up Seattle 6-3, Boston defeated Cleveland 5-2, Baltimore slid past Toronto 4-2, and Detroit blanked the White Sox 4-0.

In the National League, Milwaukee trumped the Mets 5-1 in 13, Philadelphia bested San Diego 7-3, Pittsburgh shut out the Cubs 4-0, Colorado blew out Atlanta 10-3, Cincinnati topped the Dodgers 4-1, and it was San Francisco over Washington 7-1.

NHL:

Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals is tonight at 8 p.m. where the Los Angeles Kings have a chance to win the championship series as they lead the New York Rangers 3-1.

WNBA:

In the WNBA, Connecticut edged Phoenix 96-95.
