Sports Report: LA Kings Head To Stanley Cup Against NY Rangers

NHL:

In the NHL, Los Angeles defeated Chicago 5-4 in overtime, for the Kings third Game 7 win in the playoffs which will send them to the Stanley Cup finals against the New York Rangers. Game 1 is on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

MLB:

In baseball, in interleague play, Cleveland topped Colorado 6-4, Texas edged Washington 2-0, and the White Sox beat San Diego 4-1.

In the American League, Toronto shut out Kansas City 4-0, Boston blanked Tampa Bay 4-0, Minnesota defeated the Yankees 7-2, Baltimore trumped Houston 9-4, Oakland doubled up the Angels 6-3, and it was Seattle over Detroit 4-0.

In the National League, the Mets beat Philadelphia 4-2 in 11, Atlanta topped Miami 4-2, Milwaukee blew out the Cubs 9-0, Cincinnati edged Arizona 4-3, and Pittsburgh bested the Dodgers 5-3.

French Open:

Fourth seed and former French Open winner Roger Federer has been bounced from this year's tournament. He was beaten in the fourth round by 18th seed Ernests Gulbis 6-7, 7-6, 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, ending Federer's streak of nine consecutive quarterfinals at the French Open. For Federer, a 17-time Grand Slam champion, it was the earliest exit at Roland Garros since 2004, when he was beaten in the third round by three-time champion Gustavo Kuerten.

PGA:

Hideki Matsuyama earned his first PGA victory by taking the Memorial in a one-hole playoff with Kevin Na. Matsuyama closed with a 3-under 69 that left him at 13-under through regulation. Na forced a playoff with an 8-under 64 before he bogeyed the lone playoff hole.

WNBA:

In the WNBA, Connecticut beat Atlanta 85-76, Washington defeated Los Angeles 92-84 in the third overtime, Minnesota won against San Antonio 87-79, and it was Seattle over Tulsa 62-60.
