Carmelo Anthony Helps Break NY Knicks Losing Streak

Carmelo Anthony scored 33 points to help the New York Knicks snap a seven-game losing streak with a 118-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night.

In the NBA, Golden State beat out Boston 108-88, New York over Minnesota 118-106, Brooklyn topped Memphis 103-94, Charlotte beat Indiana 109-87, Washington, Utah, 104-91, Chicago topped Detroit 105-94, Houston over Orlando 101-89, Denver beat Dallas 115-110, Sacramento, Milwaukee, 116-102, and Portland out shot Atlanta 102-78.

In the NHL, Toronto beats the New York Rangers 3-2, Philadelphia over Washington 6-4, Calgary topped Ottawa 4-1, and Montreal beat Anaheim in double overtime 4-3.

   

Mike Krzyzewski may have poured too much emotion into No. 4 Duke's 82-72 loss to Wake Forest last night. Coach K experienced enough dizziness and light-headedness to force him to kneel during a late timeout and skip his postgame news conference, although an assistant says he expects the Hall of Fame coach to make a full recovery.

In Men’s College Basketball, Wake Forest beat No. 4 ranked Duke 82-72, No. 19 UConn defeated Rutgers 69-63, No. 3 Arizona over Oregon St. 74-69, No. 8 Kansas topped Texas Tech 82-57, No. 9 Wisconsin out shot Purdue 76-70, No. 10 San Diego St. over UNLV 73-64, Dayton beat No. 17 Saint Louis 72-67, No. 11 Louisville beat No. 18 SMU 84-71, No. 21 New Mexico topped Air Force 80-52, and No. 23 Oklahoma over West Virginia 72-62.

In Baseball Spring Training, St. Louis beat Boston 8-6, Washington topped the New York Mets 11-5, Tampa Bay over the New York Yankees 5-4, Pittsburgh defeated Toronto 6-4, and Miami beat the New York Mets in the 10th Inning, 5-2.
