Upset Thursday In College Hoops, Senior Night At UAlbany

A string of upsets rocked men’s college basketball Thursday.

There were six top-25 men's basketball teams in action and the only ranked team to come away with a victory was No. 7 Louisville, which beat Temple 88-66. Duquesne knocked off tenth-ranked Saint Louis 71-64. Arkansas passed No. 17 Kentucky 71-67 in overtime. It was Indiana over No. 20 Iowa 93-86. Houston defeated No. 21 Memphis 77-68 and No. 22 Ohio St. beat Penn St. 65-63.

Elsewhere, it was Senior Night for the UAlbany men’s team.

The Great Danes won against New Hampshire 66-44. That’s their third straight win. Sam Rowley scored 19 points.

Siena had a 72-70 victory over Quinnipiac. Brett Bisping scored 16 points.

In the NBA, Glens Falls, New York native Jimmer Fredette was officially bought out and waived by the Kings. While his time with Sacramento is over, it is being reported that the Chicago Bulls are interested in signing him.

But, for all you Jimmer fans out there -- don’t get your hopes up just yet. Fredette can't officially sign a contract with any team before clearing waivers Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.

On the scoreboard, Miami won against New York 108-82. Brooklyn beat Denver 112-89. Indiana beat Milwaukee 101-96 and Toronto fell to Washington 134-129.

In the NHL the NY Rangers beat Chicago 2-1. New Jersey had a 5-2 win over Columbus. Montreal defeated Pittsburgh 6-5 in a shootout. San Jose won against Philadelphia 7-3. The NY Islanders slid past Toronto 5-4. Detroit edged Ottawa 6-1. Washington beat Florida 5-4. Winnipeg topped Phoenix 3-2. Nashville passed Tampa Bay 3-2. Dallas took Carolina 4-1. Los Angeles blanked Calgary 2-0 and Minnesota shut out Edmonton 3-0.

Finally in baseball spring training, Pittsburgh beat the Yankees 8-2. Toronto won against Philadelphia 7-5 and Detroit defeated Atlanta 5-2
