Peyton Manning 3-0 Against Eli; BMW Championship Resumes

In the NFL, Peyton Manning is now 3-0 in the NFL against his kid brother.

Peyton Manning completed 30 of 43 passes for 307 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions as the Denver Broncos whipped the New York Giants 41-23. He fared better than his brother, Eli, who had 362 passing yards but was intercepted four times.

Rookie EJ Manuel picked up his first NFL win by hitting Stevie Johnson for a two-yard touchdown pass with two seconds left to lead Buffalo past Carolina 24-23.

Elsewhere, Baltimore passed Cleveland 14-6. Kansas City beat Dallas 17-16. Miami topped Indianapolis 24-20. Chicago defeated Minnesota 31-30. San Diego won against Philadelphia 33-30. Atlanta bested St. Louis 31-24. Houston beat Tennessee 30-24. Green Bay took Washington 38-20. Arizona edged ahead of Detroit 25-21. New Orleans defeated Tampa Bay 16-14. Oakland outscored Jacksonville 19-9 and Seattle crushed San Francisco 29-3.

In baseball, Boston's magic number to win the AL East is four after the Red Sox completed a three-game sweep of the New York Yankees, 9-2. The Yanks are now eliminated from the AL East race.

The rays lost 6-4 to Minnesota and are tied with Texas for the two AL wild-card berths.

Cleveland cruised past the White Sox 7-1 and are within a half-game of Tampa Bay for that second wild-card spot. Baltimore defeated Toronto 3-1. Detroit beat Kansas City 3-2 and Texas fell to Oakland 5-1.

In the National League, the Mets blanked Miami 1-0 in 12 innings. Atlanta's magic number to clinch the NL East remains four after San Diego's 4-0 shutout of the Braves. The Dodgers lost 4-3 to San Francisco.  Pittsburgh took the Cubs 3-2. Washington cruised ahead of Philadelphia 11-2 and Colorado fell to Arizona 8-2.

In golf, the final round of the BMW Championship was suspended because of rain and will resume today as Jim Furyk tries to win a PGA Tour event for the first time in three years.
