Cincinnati defeated Indianapolis 27-10. Jacksonville beat Atlanta 20-16. Miami edged New Orleans 24-21. Carolina cruised ahead of Pittsburgh 25-10. Washington beat Tampa Bay 30-12. St. Louis trumped Baltimore 24-21. Cleveland edged ahead of Chicago 18-16. Arizona topped Denver 32-24. Seattle took Oakland 22-6 and San Diego fell to San Francisco 41-6.
The NFL reached a $765 million settlement over concussion-related brain injuries among its 18,000 retired players, agreeing to pay for medical exams and research.
The Boston Marathon will accept an extra 9,000 runners for next year's race to accommodate the 5,633 who were stopped on the course this year when two bombs went off near the finish line.
