Bruins And Stars Engage In 7-Player Trade

Sports fans in Boston have some good reasons to be excited.

In hockey, the Bruins and Dallas Stars completed a 7-player blockbuster trade. Its Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley and Ryan Button to the Stars for forward Loui Eriksson and prospects Reilly Smith, Matt Fraser and Joe Morrow.

In the NBA, the Celtics will introduce former Butler coach Brad Stevens as the team's new coach today at a news conference. The New York Knicks are also keeping J.R. Smith after agreeing to a new deal.

In baseball, Boston beat San Diego 8-2. Dustin Pedroia hit a two-run double and David Ortiz had a two-run single. Elsewhere, the Yankees beat Minnesota 9-5 and the Mets fell to Arizona 5-4 in 15 innings.

Checking the American League, the White sox got by Baltimore 3-2. Kansas City defeated Cleveland 10-7. Tampa Bay won against Houston 7-5 in 11 innings. Detroit blasted Toronto 11-1 and Texas trounced Seattle 5-4.

In the National League, it was Washington over Milwaukee 8-5. Philadelphia topped Pittsburgh 6-4. Miami edged ahead of Atlanta 4-3 and the Dodgers fell to Colorado 9-5.

Lastly, in interleague play, Oakland blanked the Cubs 1-0 and the Angels bested St. Louis 6-5.

In tennis news, Sabine Lisicki has reached the finals after beating fourth-seed Agnieszka Radwanska 6-4, 2-6, 9-7. She'll be taking on France's Marion Bartoli for the women's title at Wimbledon on Saturday.

On the men’s side, we are down to the final four and Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray will take to the court today. Murray faces Jerzy Janowicz and Djokovic takes on Juan Martin del Potro.
