In the NBA, Miami picked up their 19th straight win as Dwyane Wade scored 23 points in a wire-to-wire victory over Atlanta 98-81. LeBron James chipped in 15 points.

The winning streak ties the fifth-longest in NBA history.

Brook Lopez contributed 26 points and Brooklyn defeated New Orleans 108-98. Deron Williams had 21 points and 13 assists as the Nets won for the fourth time in five games.

Elsewhere, Charlotte crushed Boston 100-74. The Lakers beat Orlando 106-97. Cleveland topped Washington 95-90. Dallas slid past Milwaukee 115-108. Minnesota won against San Antonio 107-83 and Memphis defeated Portland 102-97.

Checking the NHL, Buffalo beat the NY Rangers 3-1. Winnipeg won against Toronto 5-2 and Nashville beat Dallas 4-0.

In college basketball, three more teams have received automatic berths in the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Valparaiso is the Horizon League champion after closing on an 18-4 run to beat Wright State 62-54.

South Dakota State won the Summit League tourney by downing North Dakota State 73-67.

LIU Brooklyn has become the first team to win three straight Northeast Conference tournament titles beating Mount St. Mary's 91-70.

In other college basketball news, Siena has fired basketball coach Mitch Buonaguro after three years following a 24-loss season.

In women’s college basketball, Notre Dame beat UConn 61-59. Notre Dame is also joining the Atlantic Coast Conference a season earlier than expected.

In the World Baseball Classic, the United States beat Puerto Rico 7-1. They face the Dominican Republic, who beat Italy 5-4, tomorrow night.
