Sarah Attar became the first Saudi women to race in track and field at the Olympics

The unprecedented champions of beach volleyball have earned their third straight gold medal. The team of Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings beat April Ross and Jennifer Kessy in an all-American final and are leaving London without losing a match. It was the Olympic farewell for May-Treanor, who has said she would like to move on.

After winning the silver medal in 2004 and 2008, Allyson Felix of the United States has won the Olympic gold medal in the women's 200 meters. Brittney Reese of the U.S. won the gold in the women's long jump. She is just the second U.S. woman to win the event at the Olympics. orld record holder Ashton Eaton of the U.S. is the leader after five events of the decathlon. Eaton started by running the 100 in 10.35 seconds, an Olympic-record time for a decathlete. He followed that up with the top performance in the long jump and was 11th in the shot put. He was second in the high jump. Sarah Attar became the first Saudi woman to compete in Olympic track and field. Wearing a headscarf, longsleeve shirt and leggings, Attar finished last in her 800-meter heat.

Day 13 at the Olympics is a huge day in track and field. There will be gold medal finals in men's 200 meters, decathlon, men's 800 meters and men's triple jump. Usain Bolt can make history today. The Jamaican sprinter can become the first man with two Olympic gold medals in the 200 meters after already posting back-to-back golds in the 100 meters.

It's Team USA vs. Argentina and Spain vs. Russia in the Olympic men's basketball semifinals on Friday. The Americans roared into the semis by dismantling Australia 119-86 behind a triple-double by LeBron James -- 11 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists. Kobe Bryant, held scoreless in the first half, picked it up big time in the second half and finished with 20. Bryant broke open a close game with six straight 3-pointers. Coach Mike Krzyzewski's club is on track for back-to-back gold medals. Next up is Argentina, a team the U.S. already has beaten by 29 points in this tournament. Then it's the Spain-Russia winner. The Spaniards advanced with a 66-59 win over France, while the Russians qualified for the semis with an 83-74 win over Lithuania.

Miami shortstop Jose Reyes homered at Citi Field in Miami’s 13-0 win over the Mets to extend his hitting streak to a career-high 26 games. That's the longest in the majors this season. Giancarlo Stanton hit two two-run homers. The Mets have lost nine straight home games. In the AL Curtis Granderson snapped out of an 0-for-10 slump by hitting his 30th homer and driving four runs in the New York Yankees' 12-8 win over Detroit. Adrian Beltre had a tiebreaking sacrifice fly in the ninth inning after Texas blew a late four-run lead and the Rangers beat the Boston Red Sox 10-9. Josh Hamilton had a big day for the Rangers with three hits, a homer and four RBIs.
