WAMC is proud to announce that it has won three Excellence in Broadcasting Awards from the New York State Broadcasters Association.

Excellence in Broadcasting awards will be presented  in September.

"We are grateful to receive these honors after such a demanding year," WAMC President and CEO Dr. Alan Chartock said. "We are thankful our members continue to enable us to produce important reporting and programming in our local communities."

The news comes days after WAMC received a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award also honoring “A New York Minute In History,” about the history of New York and the unique tales of New Yorkers. It is hosted by State Historian Devin Lander, Saratoga County Historian Lauren Roberts and Don Wildman. Jesse King and Jim Levulis of WAMC produce the podcast.

“A New York Minute In History” is a production of the New York State Museum, WAMC Northeast Public Radio and Archivist Media. Support for the project comes from The William G. Pomeroy Foundation. Original funding came from the National Endowment for the Humanities and a Humanities New York Action Grant.

These include New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Stations and translators are in more than two dozen locations throughout the region.
