Voters To Decide Several NYS Primary Races In The Hudson Valley

Thursday’s primary elections in New York feature a number of state senate and assembly races in the Hudson Valley.

There is a five-way Democratic primary for the 104th Assembly District, formerly held by Democrat Frank Skartados, who died earlier this year. Democratic Assemblywoman Didi Barrett faces a challenge from Republican Will Truitt for the Independence line. In the state Senate, David Carlucci, a Democrat who was a member of the now disbanded IDC, faces off against educator Julie Goldberg for the 38th District. Democrats Robert Kesten and former Westchester County Legislator Peter Harckham are vying for the chance to unseat incumbent Republican Terrence Murphy in the 40th District. Democrats will choose between Rosendale Town Councilwoman Jen Metzger and activist Pramilla Malick for the 42nd Senate District, now held by Republican John Bonacic, who is not seeking re-election.
