Vermont Certifies State Presidential Primary Results

Vermont's secretary of state formally certified the results of Vermont's presidential primary one week after the votes were cast.
Secretary of State Jim Condos held the canvas at his office in Montpelier on Tuesday with the chairs of the state’s three major parties to certify the vote totals and winners for the Democratic and Republican presidential primaries.

The Canvas Committee determined that 197,323 voters cast ballots which is just over 40% turnout.

In Vermont’s Presidential primary 158,032 Democratic ballots were cast and 39,291 Republican ballots.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders won the state’s Democratic primary and incumbent President Donald Trump won the Republican primary.
