The City Clerk of Springfield, Massachusetts issued a public apology Wednesday after uttering an expletive during a livestreamed remote City Council meeting.
It happened as the city’s police commissioner was arguing against a proposed budget cut.
As Commissioner Cheryl Clapprood is commenting about low morale in the police department a voice is heard saying "Aw, bitch, shut the **** up."
" Whoa, whoa, whoa," said Mayor Domenic Sarno.
" Somebody is out of order," said City Council President Justin Hurst.
City Clerk Tasheena Davis immediately apologized insisting her unmuted comments were directed at a family member.
In a later written statement Davis said she was embarrassed by her use of profanity.
FOCUS Springfield which produced the livestream deleted the expletive from the public archive, but said the raw footage had been retained to comply with the Open Meeting Law.
