Tom Brady broke another NFL passing record while moving the New England Patriots one step closer to one more AFC East title.
Brady became the all-time leader in total passing yards in regular season and playoff games while going 20 of 31 throws for 283 yards and two touchdowns in the Patriots' 27-13 win over the Jets at the Meadowlands. The 41-year-old Brady now has 79,416 yards and became the third quarterback in league history with 16 straight seasons of at least 3,000 yards.
Rookie Sony Michel ran for a season-best 133 yards and a TD as the Pats improved to 8-3.
The Jets are 3-8 following their fifth consecutive loss.

The Broncos pulled off an upset win for the second straight week as Phillip Lindsay rushed for 110 yards and the game-deciding touchdown in Denver's 24-17 victory over the Steelers. Nose tackle Shelby Harris picked off Ben Roethlisberger's 2-yard pass to Antonio Brown in the end zone with 1:03 remaining to end Pittsburgh's six-game winning streak. Roethlisberger was 41 of 56 for 462 yards, but he was intercepted twice and the Steelers lost two fumbles in falling to 7-3-1.
Philip Rivers completed 25 straight passes while going 28 of 29 for 259 yards and three touchdowns in just three quarters of the Chargers' 45-10 mauling of the Cardinals. The 25 straight completions broke an NFL record for the start of a game and tied the mark for any point in a game. He also broke the NFL mark for completion percentage as Los Angeles moved to 8-3.
The Colts won their fifth in a row since a 1-5 start as Andrew Luck threw for three touchdowns and Adam Vinatieri drilled a 32-yard field goal as time expired to complete a 27-24 triumph over the Dolphins. Luck was 30 of 37 for 343 yards against Miami, which led 24-14 after Kenyan Drake's 14-yard TD run with 8:26 remaining. The 5-6 Dolphins have dropped 10 of their last 11 road games.
The Vikings kept the heat on the NFC North-leading Bears as Kirk Cousins completed 29 of his 38 passes for 342 yards and three TDs without a turnover to lead a 24-17 victory against the Packers. Dalvin Cook, Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen made scoring grabs and Sheldon Richardson had two sacks to help Minnesota drop Green Bay's road record to 0-6. Aaron Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Davante Adams and Aaron Jones scored on a short run for a 14-7 lead early before the Vikes improved to 6-4-1.
Russell Wilson threw for 339 yards and two touchdowns and Sebastian Janikowski kicked a 31-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Seahawks to a 30-27 come-from-behind victory at Carolina. After Graham Gano missed a 52-yard field goal with 1:40 left, Wilson moved around in the pocket until finding Tyler Lockett downfield for a 43-yard completion, setting up the winning kick. Lockett finished with five catches for 107 yards and a touchdown, while David Moore had four receptions for 103 yards and a score. Both teams are 6-5.
Gus Edwards rushed for 118 yards and Lamar Jackson accounted for two TDs as the Ravens knocked off the Raiders, 31-17 to improve to 6-5. Jackson ran for a TD and passed for a score to help Baltimore improve to 2-0 since he replaced the injured Joe Flacco. The Ravens also scored touchdowns on Cyrus Jones' 70-yard punt return and Terrell Suggs' 43-yard fumble return.
Jake Elliott's 43-yard field goal with 22 seconds remaining gave the Eagles a 25-22 victory over the Giants. Josh Adams ran for 84 yards, one touchdown and a two-point conversion to help the 5-6 Eagles storm back from a 19-3, first-half deficit. Saquon Barkley grabbed a TD pass and ran for a 51-yard score before finishing with 101 yards rushing, almost all of it in the opening half.
The Browns' 25-game road losing streak is over after Baker Mayfield threw a career-high four touchdown passes in a 35-20 victory at Cincinnati. Mayfield finished 19 of 26 for 258 yards as the Browns improved to 4-6-1 and dealt the 5-6 Bengals their fifth loss in six games. The Bengals finished the game without quarterback Andy Dalton, who was just 10 of 17 for 100 yards with a touchdown and an interception before suffering a thumb injury in the third quarter.
Josh Allen scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 14-yard run in the fourth quarter, and the Bills beat the Jaguars 24-21 in a game marred by a fight that led to the ejections of Jacksonville running back Leonard Fournette and Buffalo defensive end Shaq Lawson. Fournette finished with 95 yards on 18 carries and scored two touchdowns before he was thrown out with 2:57 left in the third.
Jameis Winston threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns to help the Buccaneers snap a four-game losing streak with a 27-9 victory over the 49ers. Winston completed 29 of 38 passes without an interception in his first start since Oct. 28. Ryan Smith and Isaiah Johnson coming up with Tampa Bay's first interceptions since a loss to Pittsburgh on Sept. 24.

The Jets' Jason Myers has become the first kicker in NFL history to hit five field goals from 55-plus yards in one season. He made his fifth when he hit a 55-yard field goal with three seconds remaining in the opening half against New England. Myers also had 55-yarders against Miami, Minnesota and Buffalo, and a 56-yarder versus the Dolphins.
The 49ers released linebacker Reuben Foster, hours after he was arrested at the team hotel in Tampa on charges of domestic violence. Tampa police say a woman told them Foster slapped her phone out of her hand, pushed her in the chest area and slapped her on the face with an open hand. Police didn't say whether it was the same woman who accused Foster of hitting her in February but later recanted the allegations.
COLLEGE FOOTBALL
Ohio State's 62-39 rout of Michigan pushed the Buckeyes up four spots and dropped the Wolverines four places in the newest Associated Press college football poll.
The Buckeyes climbed to sixth, behind Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Georgia and Oklahoma. The Wolverines slipped to eighth, one spot behind unbeaten UCF.
No. 9 Texas and Washington round out the top 10.
Washington State and LSU both dropped out of the top 10 and are tied for No. 12.

An official scoring change in Ohio State's 62-39 victory over Michigan has credited Buckeyes quarterback Dwayne Haskins with a sixth touchdown pass in the game.
Parris Campbell was originally credited with a 78-yard rushing TD on a play in which he crossed in front of Haskins, took the ball and raced for a score. After the game, coaches and players said the ball was flipped from Haskins to Campbell, which makes it a forward pass..

Kliff Kingsbury has been fired at Texas Tech after the former record-setting Red Raiders quarterback had a losing overall record in his six seasons as their head coach. Tech finished on a five-game losing streak following a 5-2 start this year.
Clay Helton will remain Southern California's head coach despite the Trojans' first losing season since 2000. USC athletic director Lynn Swann made the announcement Sunday, one day after the Trojans finished 5-7 with a loss to Notre Dame. Helton is 32-17 in his first head coaching job.
North Carolina says football coach Larry Fedora is out after seven seasons. UNC won 11 games and an Atlantic Coast Conference division championship in 2015, but went 5-18 over the past two seasons.
Illinois has extended the contract of coach Lovie Smith for two years through 2023 after the Illini finished his third season with four victories. Smith is 9-27 in three seasons with the Illini and 4-23 in the Big Ten, but there were clear signs of progress this season for an inexperienced team.
NBA
The Toronto Raptors have run their latest winning streak to five games as they threaten to turn the NBA's Atlantic Division race into a runaway.
Kawhi Leonard, Kyle Lowry and Jonas Valanciunas each had double-doubles and Pascal Siakam scored 21 points as the Raptors topped the Heat, 125-115. Leonard had 29 points and 10 rebounds, Lowry added 12 points and 10 assists and Valanciunas had 17 points and 10 boards as Toronto improved to a league-best 17-4.
Dwyane Wade scored a season-high 35 points, the most ever by a Miami bench player.

The 76ers pulled out a 127-125 win over the Nets on Jimmy Butler's 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds left. Butler finished with 34 points and 12 rebounds, and Joel Embiid had 32 points and 12 boards for Philadelphia.
Terrence Ross provided the go-ahead lay-up with 34 seconds left as the Magic beat the Lakers for the second time in eight days, 108-104. Nikola Vucevic had 31 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists for Orlando, which moved into first place in the NBA's Southeast Division. LeBron James had 24 points and seven assists for the Lakers, who had won three straight games and six of their past seven.
Danilo Gallinari provided the tiebreaking jumper with 47 seconds left and finished with 17 points as the Clippers got past the Trail Blazers, 104-100. Tobias Harris had 34 points and 11 rebounds for Los Angeles, which trailed by 13 at halftime before improving to a Western Conference-leading 13-6.
John Collins scored 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked Kemba Walker's runner as time expired to secure the Hawks' 124-123 win against the Hornets. Kent Bazemore scored 20 points and hit the go-ahead basket for Atlanta with 4.6 seconds remaining.
Andre Drummond and Blake Griffin each had double-doubles and the Pistons used a late 15-3 run to pull away in a 118-107 victory against the Suns. Drummond finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds, while Griffin added 16 points and 11 assists as Detroit won its second straight.
The Jazz coasted to a 133-112 romp over the Kings as Rudy Gobert delivered 18 points and 15 rebounds. Ricky Rubio scored 27 points for Utah, which ended a three-game skid despite playing without leading scorer Donovan Mitchell due to bruised ribs.
Enes Kantor's 21 points and career-high 26 boards helped the Knicks beat the Grizzlies, 103-98. Tim Hardaway Jr. finished with 22 points as the Knicks won their third in a row in Coach David Fizdale's return to Memphis.

MEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Villanova has come away with the AdvoCare Invitational championship just a week after the defending national champions fell from the AP men's basketball poll.
Collin Gillespie had 17 points, including a pair of late free throws with 11.2 seconds left to push the Wildcats past No. 14 Florida State, 66-60. Eric Paschall had 15 points and Phil Booth chipped in 12 for Villanova, who slid out of the poll with last week's home losses to Michigan and Furman.
Oklahoma State won the tournament's third-place game as Cameron McGriff poured in 28 points and Lindy Waters added 16 to lead the Cowboys to a 90-77 win against 19th-ranked LSU. McGriff hit a 3 and Waters made three free throws during a second half-opening, 15-2 run that put Oklahoma State ahead 57-39 with 13 minutes to play.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have the best point total in the NHL's Eastern Conference following Sunday's 5-2 win over the New Jersey Devils.
Brayden Point scored twice and had an assist as the Lightning improved to 17-6-1, one point ahead of the surprising Sabres. Tyler Johnson, Cedric Paquette and Alex Killorn also scored and Louis Domingue stopped 33 shots in Tampa Bay's third straight win and fifth in six games.
New Jersey goaltender Cory Schneider finished with 30 saves but fell to 0-15-2 since last Dec, 27.
Like the Lightning, the Predators have 35 points after Austin Watson recorded a hat trick in a 5-2 verdict over the Ducks. Watson scored in each period of Nashville's sixth consecutive home win.
Elsewhere on NHL ice:
Noah Hanifan and Mark Jankowski each scored twice while the Flames were building a 6-0 lead in a 6-1 pounding of Arizona. Mike Smith picked up his first victory since Nov. 1 by stopping 28 shots and blanking the Coyotes until Clayton Keller beat him with 6:16 remaining.
The Kings earned a 5-2 win over the Oilers behind Dustin Brown's hat trick. Anze Kopitar scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period and had two assists to help Los Angeles win for the first time in six home games.

SLALOM
Mikaela Shiffrin made a small mistake halfway through her final run and heard a hush from the crowd below.
Only one thing to do — charge even more.
Shiffrin powered through the fog in Killington on Sunday to win her third straight World Cup slalom race at the venue.
The 23-year-old from Colorado overcame her tiny missteps and got stronger near the finish by the urging of the home crowd. Shiffrin finished in a combined time of 1 minute, 43.25 seconds to edge Petra Vlhova of Slovakia by 0.57 seconds. Sweden's Frida Hansdotter finished third.
After crossing the finish line, Shiffrin needed a moment for everything to sink in. Then, she raised her hands and celebrated with the fans, who helped her know how she was faring on every turn of the course through their cheers or groans.
"I could hear the crowd the whole second run, from the start to the finish," explained Shiffrin, who's captured two straight overall World Cup titles. "Sometimes they were getting loud and sometimes quieter. I thought: 'Uh, oh, I'm not fast enough. I have to push harder!' I was trying to really push the whole way down the course. The crowd takes me down the mountain and they did today."
This was World Cup slalom win No. 34 for Shiffrin, tying her with Vreni Schneider for second among women in the discipline. The record of 35 is held by Austria's Marlies Schild, one of Shiffrin's childhood favorites. Shiffrin still watches video of the way Schild attacks a course.
"I feel like she's the greatest slalom skier of this generation because she was the first," Shiffrin said. "She was the first one to completely pioneer a new kind of style of skiing. Some of her runs, it was like she belonged with the men.
"In my heart, Marlies will always have the record."
Shiffrin's 45th overall World Cup win capped off quite a weekend at Killington for her. On Saturday, she was fourth in the giant slalom.
The conditions were less than ideal Sunday, given the fog and the drizzle. That didn't bother her.
"Every year the weather throws something new at us," Shiffrin said. "That's ski racing."
Shiffrin has been a pillar of consistency in the slalom. Over her last 31 World Cup races in the discipline, she's been on the podium 29 times, including 25 wins.
"If you asked me 10 years ago if I'd be in this position, I'd say never," Shiffrin said. "It's incredible."
Next up for the women's circuit will be speed races in Lake Louise, Alberta. Lindsey Vonn had been scheduled to make her season debut, but she hurt her knee in a training run and will skip the races. Vonn has 82 World Cup victories, leaving her five away from breaking the record held by Ingemar Stenmark of Sweden.
TENNIS
Marin Cilic sealed Croatia's victory over defending champion France in the Davis Cup final with a 7-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Lucas Pouille.
Croatia claimed a second title in the team event following its first win in 2005.

World champion Lewis Hamilton coasted to victory from the pole position at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
It was Hamilton's 11th win of the year and 73rd of his career as he tries to match Michael Schumacher's F1 record of 91 GP wins.
