A brace was placed around his neck and he was strapped to a backboard before being placed onto a gurney and wheeled off the court. However, the Celtics say the injury isn't serious.

NFL

Lamar Jackson has made another case for the NFL's most valuable player award. Jackson tied a career high with five touchdown passes while completing 15 of 20 throws for 169 yards in leading the Baltimore Ravens to a 45-6 blowout over the Rams in Los Angeles. Marquise Brown and Willie Snead each grabbed two scoring passes from Jackson, who also ran for 95 yards on just eight carries. Mark Ingram rushed for 111 yards and a TD and caught a scoring pass. Gibson made 16 of his saves in the first period of his first shutout of the season and 19th of his career. The Islanders hadn't lost in regulation since Oct. 11 against Carolina, but had gone into overtime in each of their previous four games before facing Anaheim. The Blue Jackets knocked off the Senators, 1-0 as Oliver Bjorkstrand scored 21 seconds into the third period and Joonas Korpisalo earned his second career shutout. Korpisalo stopped 25 shots for Columbus which is back over .500 following its fourth win in five games.

In NHL news, Flames general manager Brad Treliving says the team is looking into an accusation that head coach Bill Peters directed racial slurs toward a Nigerian-born hockey player a decade ago in the minor leagues. Akim Aliu tweeted Monday that Peters "dropped the N bomb several times towards me in the dressing room in my rookie year because he didn't like my choice of music." Aliu says he "rebelled against him," and Peters responded by asking executives to send Aliu to a lower minor league level. The tweet did not name Peters but referred to a "protege" of fired Toronto coach Mike Babcock's who is now in Calgary.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Alexander Kerfoot has been suspended two games by the NHL for his hit on Colorado Avalanche defenseman Erik Johnson. MLB

Nestor Cortes Jr. has been traded by the Yankees to Seattle for $28,300 in international signing bonus pool allocation, the remainder of what the Mariners had available to deal. The 25-year-old left-hander was 5-1 with a 5.67 ERA in 32 relief appearances and one start this year.

Evan White is the latest prospect to ink a lucrative, long-term contract without playing a single major league game. The Seattle Mariners and the first baseman have finalized a six-year, $24 million package that includes three club options that could keep White locked up through 2028. The 23-year-old White was the 17th overall pick in the 2017 amateur draft out of Kentucky. He spent this year with Arkansas of the Double-A Texas League, batting .293 with 18 home runs and 55 RBIs in 92 games.

A person familiar with the situation says free agent left-hander Rich Hill has had surgery on his pitching elbow and is likely to miss the first half of next season. Hill was 4-1 with a 2.45 ERA in 13 starts this year for the Dodgers.

The Rays have avoided arbitration with catcher Mike Zunino by giving him a $4.5 million contract for 2020. Zunino hit .165 with 10 doubles, nine home runs and 32 RBIs, while throwing out 34 percent of attempted base stealers.

A person familiar with the situation says the White Sox have placed reigning Gold Glove second baseman Yolmer Sánchez on outright waivers rather than face the prospect of paying him $6 million next year. The 27-year-old Sánchez had a .987 fielding percentage to earn his first Gold Glove last season, but he hit only .252 with two home runs, 20 doubles and 43 RBIs in 149 games.

OLYMPICS

A key World Anti-Doping Agency panel has recommended Russian athletes be forced to compete as neutrals at next year's Olympics in Tokyo and other major events. WADA's compliance review committee has recommended a four-year ban on hosting major events in Russia and a ban for the same period on flying the Russian flag at major competitions. The WADA executive committee will rule on the recommendations on Dec. 9. That follows a lengthy investigation into lab data handed over by Russia in January.
