Son Killed And Father Injured In House Fire

Police are investigating the cause of a house fire in the Adirondacks that left one man dead and another man hospitalized with burns.
State Police say the fire broke out around 2 a.m. Sunday at a home in Lyon Mountain, near the northern edge of the Adirondack Park.

First responders found 22-year-old Codi Smithers dead in an upstairs bedroom and his father, 49-year-old Christopher Smithers, with burns to his torso, face and hands.
The elder Smithers was hospitalized for treatment.

An autopsy on Codi Smithers was scheduled Monday.

New York State Police are working with Clinton County and state fire investigators to determine the cause of the fire.

Lyon Mountain is a community located within the town of Dannemora.
