Dr. Ivette Guttmann

Dr. Ivette Guttman of Southwestern Vermont Health Care joins Medical Monday to answer sports medicine questions. WAMC's Ray Graf hosts.

Dr. Guttmann earned her medical degree at Universidad Autonoma de Centro America in Costa Rica and completed the pediatrics residency training program at San Juan City Hospital in Puerto Rico in 2012. In addition, she completed fellowship training in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Albany Medical Center in New York in 2013. She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Florida State University and an associate’s degree from Miami-Dade Community College in 1994. She is board certified by the American Board for both Pediatrics and Primary Care Sports Medicine.

In addition, Dr. Guttmann played professionally as a record-breaking quarterback for the Independent Women’s Football League Orlando Starz and was captain of the Orlando Mayhem, 2001-2004. At the amateur level, she has participated in adventure races, basketball, mountain and road cycling, snowboarding, tennis, and volleyball. She was the team physician at the University of Miami Athletic Department and has provided medical coverage for the New York Giants training camp in Albany, NY.  She has also provided medical coverage for Siena College, Lake Placid Ironman, Florida Ironman, and a multitude of other Triathlons.

Dr. Guttmann practices in Bennington, at SVMC Northshire Campus in Manchester Center, and Twin Rivers Medical in Hoosick Falls, New York.
