Governor To Allow Low Contact Sports To Resume

As Vermont’s bars and restaurants opened, with restrictions, to inside diners Monday Governor Phil Scott announced that the next step in the state’s gradual reopening will be allowing some low contact sports to begin.
Although there will be 25-person limit size on teams and crowds Governor Scott says recreational sports like soccer, softball, baseball and lacrosse may start as of June 15.  “To be clear we’re not ready for high contact sports like wrestling, football and basketball. But they can do conditioning and other low contact skill building drills.”

Social distancing and mask wearing is encouraged and there are hygiene and equipment cleaning requirements.
