Richard-Olivier Marius says he has shut down his campaign and is endorsing Gabriella Romero. Richard Conti, elected in 1997, is one of five senior Albany Common Council members who are not running for another term this year.

Marius, originally knocked off the ballot due to an omission on his petitions, successfully challenged the Board of Elections decision.

This is not the first time Romero has been endorsed by a candidate that has bowed out of the race. Ford McLain previously dropped out and chose to support Romero, who faces Jeff Mayo and Susan Pedo in the June 22nd Democratic primary.

In 2012, Dave received a Communicator Award of Distinction for his WAMC news story "Fail: The NYS Flood Panel," which explores whether the damage from Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee could have been prevented or at least curbed. Dave began his radio career as a “morning personality” at WABY in Albany.
