Albany Academies Bicentennial

The Albany Academies -- Albany Academy for Girls & The Albany Academy -- are committed to developing the potential of the whole individual student by building a community that fosters scholarship, leadership, character, service and creativity. And they’ve been doing that for 200 years.

They are Preschool-Grade 12 independent college-preparatory single-gender schools that have been producing leaders of the Capital Region, the State of New York, and the world at large for 200 years. Now united into a single institution, the schools follow an innovative model of single-gender education from Pre-K through the Tenth Grade and a coordinate program in the final two years in preparation for college and beyond.

Today, the Albany Academy for Girls will have a Founder’s Day Celebration. Head of School, Doug North, joins us now to tell us more.

Joe talks to people on the radio for a living. In addition to countless impressive human "gets" - he has talked to a lot of Muppets. Joe grew up in Philadelphia, has been on the area airwaves for more than 25 years and currently lives in Washington County, NY with his wife, Kelly, and their dog, Brady. And yes, he reads every single book.
