Adirondack Northway Lane Closures Set This Week

Saratoga Springs, NY – Motorists traveling the interstate highway between Albany and the Canadian border in northern New York can expect traffic delays in the Saratoga Springs area this week. WAMC's Tristan O'Neill reports...

The state Department of Transportation says a bridge replacement project will close all lanes of Interstate 87, also known as the Adirondack Northway.

DOT officials say all three northbound lanes will be closed at four different times between 8 this evening and 6 a.m. Wednesday at Exit 14 in Saratoga Springs. All three southbound lanes will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday to 6 a.m. Thursday.

Traffic will be diverted from the Northway to the Exit 14 off-ramps, then directed across Route 9P to the exit's on-ramp to re-enter the highway.

DOT officials say motorists consider alternate routes.

The bridge that carries Route 9P over the highway is being replaced.
