The New York state Department of Health is investigating possible exposure to COVID-19 during a church service in Ticonderoga.
Governor Andrew Cuomo ordered the state health department to investigate the possibility people were exposed to the virus during a church service in an Essex County community.
One individual who attended the 9 a.m. service on June 21st at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ticonderoga tested positive for COVID-19. That person, exposed to the virus by an individual who was infected in Florida, is now in self-isolation.
The state and county health departments are performing contact tracing to determine who attended the Sunday Mass and recommending a COVID test.
