The field of candidates seeking to become Vermont's next governor is growing.
Lt. Gov. Phil Scott told WPTZ-TV that he plans to send an email to supporters on Tuesday announcing his campaign for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, with a traditional campaign kick-off in November.
Gov. Peter Shumlin, a Democrat, said in June that he wouldn't be seeking a third two-year term.
Since then, Republican businessman Bruce Lisman and two Democrats — House Speaker Shap Smith and former lawmaker Matt Dunne — have announced their campaigns.
