Just days after the long-time supervisor of the Town of Plattsburgh announced he will not run for re-election this fall a candidate has come forth seeking the seat.
Ten year veteran Town of Plattsburgh Supervisor Democrat Bernie Bassett announced late last week that he will not seek his office again.
On Monday Plattsburgh Town Councilman Democrat Michael Cashman announced his candidacy for the position. The first-term councilman said in a release that his campaign would focus on economic development, updating infrastructure and enhancing the standard of living.
Cashman is currently the Assistant Director of Campus Activities at SUNY Plattsburgh.
