Ferry Service Between New York And Vermont Set To Resume

WAMC/Pat Bradley

Another sign that spring is really here: The Lake Champlain Transportation Company says ferry service between Charlotte, Vermont and Essex, New York is preparing to resume.

The company says the transport service is set to resume April 14.

The three-mile crossing between Charlotte and Essex has been closed for much of the winter and early spring because ice conditions made it difficult for the ferries to make the crossing.

The crossing between Grand Isle, Vermont, and Cumberland Head, New York, is operating normally 24-hours a day.
