Rep. Stefanik Sworn In At Plattsburgh Ceremony
The youngest woman ever to serve in Congress held a ceremonial swearing in Saturday in her home district in northern New York.
Congresswoman Elise Stefanik was sworn in on Tuesday in Washington. On Saturday she held a ceremonial swearing in at the government center in Plattsburgh.
Stefanik says it was important that her constituents have an opportunity to participate.
"This is the most important part. The swearing in is in the district so the constituents you take that oath of office and understand that I'll be working on their behalf," said Stefanik.
Republican Stefanik represents NY's 21st congressional district - one of the largest in area east of the Mississippi.
