Three Congressional Candidates Participate in Debate

Earlier this week the candidates in the new 21st Congressional district debated in Queensbury.

The debate, recorded by Plattsburgh Mountain Lake Public television, was hosted by the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce.  It included all three candidates - Incumbent Democrat Bill Owens, Republican Matt Doheny and the Green Party’s Donald Hassig.  It is one of three debates scheduled between the candidates. The questions ranged from card check and small business issues to fracking.  Donald Hassig began an animated interaction when asked how they would assure the region’s agricultural sustainability.

When the issue of the candidates’ positions on the Affordable Care Act came up, the audience had to be chastened  by the moderator.  Republican Matt Doheny addressed the issue first.

The debate will air on Mountain Lake PBS beginning on October 4th
