Albany police said they discovered what appeared to be human remains inside of a shed in the city's Whitehall neighborhood on Tuesday.
Officers were executing a search warrant at 7 Marlborough Court related to the 2010 disappearance of Ashley Carroll in the nearby city of Rensselaer.
The remains have not been identified. Police said the Ashley Carroll investigation remains ongoing.
