Police tape surrounded a Mechanicville apartment complex Wednesday, where police say they discovered four children and two adults dead Tuesday.

The bodies were discovered after officers were called by concerned neighbors to the John Moore Homes complex in the Saratoga County city.

Police have identified the bodies as Amy Steadman, her daughter Sarah Myers, and Myers’ four children. The children ranged in age from 10 to 13 years old.

Investigators are treating this as a criminal investigation as autopsies are conducted, though they say there is no evidence any other individuals are involved and there is no threat to the public.

Rose Young lives in a neighboring building in the complex and said she used to see the kids play. She watched emergency responders remove the bodies Tuesday evening.

“Oh my god, you could tell the difference; little bags, big bags,” said Young. “Could you imagine people going in there and seeing?”

Anyone with any additional information is asked to contact the Mechanicville Police Department at 518-664-7383.
