The Schenectady City Council is still trying to finalize a 2026 budget after Mayor Gary McCarthy vetoed the council’s proposal earlier this month. At this week’s council committee meeting, the city’s attorney, Maxine Barasch, recommended the council pass the mayor’s version of the budget – or possibly find themselves in court.
