The Aurora Games, an all-women athletics event, begins Monday evening with a kickoff event at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.
The celebration to mark the start of the week-long sporting event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m..
A march of the athletes will commence at 6 p.m., with meet-and-greets and time for fans to grab autographs.
Music begins at 6:15 with performances by Amanda Mena of “America’s Got Talent” and Madison Vandenburg of “American Idol.”
The Official Aurora Games kickoff ceremony will be held at 7:15 p.m., followed by a screening of the movie “A League of Their Own.” The event will close with fireworks at approximately 9:40 p.m..
Competitions in tennis, gymnastics, basketball, ice hockey, fire skating, and beach volleyball will continue at the Times Union Center Tuesday through Sunday.
