Capital Region Congressman Paul Tonko will lead a House subcommittee on climate change.

Tonko, a member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee, has been named Chair of the Subcommittee on the Environment and Climate Change.

The Democrat from New York’s 20th District recently discussed the ongoing efforts to combat climate change in the House and how scientific opinion has advanced during his decade in Congress.

“WE’ve seen a lot more commitment to climate change as a concept and many more scientists speaking out as to the whole impact of carbon pollution,” said Tonko.

Tonko spoke on WAMC’s Congressional Corner.
