Saratoga Springs City Hall Struck By Lightning

Saratoga Springs City Hall was struck by lightning during thunderstorms Friday night.

The city police department said in a Facebook post Saturday morning the lightning sparked a small fire in the attic above the building's third floor music hall.

The fire was quickly extinguished by the Saratoga Springs Fire Department, though police say sections of the buidling sustained significant smoke and water damage.

Officials expect to announce Sunday whether the building will open for business Monday and that emergency communication has been temporarliy relocated to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Department.
