Northern New York Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik is hosting a roundtable on opioid addiction in Saratoga County Friday.

Congresswoman Stefanik of New York’s 21st District will host the discussion focused on combatting the heroin and opioid addiction crisis in the Saratoga County Town of Wilton.

It begins at 10:30 at the Wilton Fire Department at 270 Ballard Road.

Recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said drug overdose deaths killed more than 72,300 Americans last year, a 10 percent increase over the previous year.

Citing the report, Representative John Faso, a Republican from New York’s 19th Congressional District, urged the Senate to pass two opioid-related bills.
