A man who fired seven bullets into a crowd in Schenectady, New York killing one has been sentenced to 35 years to life in state prison.
Niam Dorvil was accused of firing a 9mm pistol into a crowd of 30 people on Crane Street in Schenectady in July 2017.
One of the bullets struck and killed Jonathan Olds.
The Schenectady County District Attorney’s office says Dorvil, when interviewed by the Schenectady Police Department and the FBI, indicated he fired the gun “because he was not satisfied with his life and mad at the world in general.” Authorities say Olds was not an intended target.
Dorvil was found guilty of second degree murder and other charges.
