New York’s U.S. senators have announced federal aid for early education programs for low-income families.

Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer and fellow Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand announced on Wednesday that Warren County Head Start, Inc. would receive $1.3 million in federal Head Start and Early Head Start funding.

Head Start and Early Head Start provide comprehensive development programs for children up to age five and support services for families.

The programs include early education, health screenings, social and emotional health, nutrition, social services, and services for children with disabilities.
