Visitors to Saratoga Springs this weekend should prepare for large crowds and heavy traffic. WAMC’s Lucas Willard reports  public safety officials are asking anyone coming to the city to plan accordingly.

Saratoga Springs Assistant Police Chief John Catone said the city is ready for the busy Travers Day weekend.

“We’re very well prepared. We’re expecting about 125,000 people in the city on Saturday,” said Catone.

Saratoga Race Course’s signature event also comes on a weekend featuring a concert with country music star Luke Bryan at Saratoga Performing Arts Center.

Police are asking visitors and residents to check out a Travers Day parking plan online

And it’s always helpful to plan your route, arrive early, and take advantage of all entrances to the Spa City.
