Racing Museum Celebrates Champion Thoroughbred Man O' War

One of the greatest thoroughbred racehorses of all-time, Man o’ War, is being celebrated at the National Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Saratoga Springs with a new exhibit.

In 1919 and 1920, Man o' War won 20 of 21 starts, setting an all-time earnings record, three world records, two American records, and seven track records.

The Man o’ War at 100 exhibit, on display through December 2018, celebrates the champion’s 100th birthday with items from his racing days around the U.S. up through his retirement at Faraway Farm in Kentucky.

WAMC's Lucas Willard joined museum curator Victoria Reisman for a tour of the new exhibit.

Lucas Willard is a news reporter and host at WAMC Northeast Public Radio, which he joined in 2011. He produces and hosts The Best of Our Knowledge and WAMC Listening Party.
