A prominent Capital Region developer has been chosen to rebuild Troy’s long-stalled One Monument Square project.
The 1.6-acre parcel on River Street was once home to Troy’s City Hall.
On Wednesday, Mayor Patrick Madden said Bonacio Construction was chosen after a “thorough review and interview process.”
Proposals for the site have come and gone over the past several years as developers have grappled with difficulties associated with the site beside the Troy waterfront.
The proposal will support what Troy officials call an “18-hour downtown” with a new nine-screen movie theater and future residential and commercial floors.
