Gathering To Mark Pitney Farm Sale

The Pitney Meadows Community Farm non-profit is inviting the local community to celebrate the purchase of the Pitney Farm in Saratoga Springs.

The 166-acre farm has been placed under Conservation Easement and will be restricted from development. The group seeks to use the family farm as an education center.

Matt Kopans of the Waldorf School of Saratoga Springs previously said the farm would provide opportunities for students. .

“This becomes like a whole new classroom for many of our students,” said Kopans.

The Pitney family will turn over the keys to the property after owning it for 154 years. An event is scheduled for noon today.
